The 2019 Lionakis Flag Football League (LFFL) recently wrapped up another fun-filled season of play amongst fellow coworkers, colleagues and friends. Four teams in shades of green, pink and red with very creative names consisting of Medium Rare, The Highlighters, Raw Meat and Money Badger$ began the seven-week season on March 13 at Curtis Park. Each team played the other teams in two games throughout the season. Whether you had a winning record, or a 0-6 record, each team made it to the Championship with the chance to win it all.

The Championship Game was a battle until the very end in single elimination. In the first game of the Championship, the last place team (The Highlighters), played the first-place team (Medium Rare), with the second-place team (Raw Meat) playing the third-place team (Honey Badger$). The winners of the first game were Medium Rare and Raw Meat who then showed down in the final game of the season. After a very close and intense game, Medium Rare took it all and were declared the 2019 champions!

Thank you to all of the Team Captains for helping with drafting, team coordination, field set up and tear down, and to the Structural Studio’s James Langelier, LFFL Commissioner, for his hard work in planning and coordinating another year of play! This league is a Lionakis tradition that everyone looks forward to playing in every year! Until next season…
