Last Thursday, November 14, the Natomas Unified School District, along with school staff, students, and the Lionakis and Boldt Construction Company team celebrated the future Paso Verde K-8 School with the official groundbreaking of the new campus. The interim portable campus, located just down the street from the new site, currently serves as the instructional facility until the new campus is open in 2021. The highly anticipated 90,000 square foot school will be designed to accommodate approximately 1,000 students and includes an administration building, a gymnasium with locker rooms, science labs, a cafeteria and a multi-purpose room. In addition, the campus will be Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) focused and include collaboration spaces and outdoor learning environments.
Natomas Unified School District is devoted to changing the way they educate all their students throughout the District, and this new campus will serve as an innovative, 21st-century school to achieve their mission. The students and staff are grateful and excited to be in their new home come 2020!
