Construction is moving along quickly at Natomas Unified School District’s new replacement campus, the Paso Verde K-8 School. Surrounded by agricultural fields, located near I-5 and a short distance away from the Sacramento International Airport, this $60 million dollar campus will be home to 1,000 students upon completion in 2021. Project team members from the Lionakis Education studio recently went on a socially distanced site visit to the campus to discuss lessons learned and see all the progress as the interior finishes begin to go up. The interiors, once complete, will focus on the surrounding agricultural environment including natural patterns of different fruits and vegetables, providing not only a rich and stimulating texture to the spaces, but also plenty of opportunities to put learning on display with educational fun facts.
