GDUSA’s 2020 American Inhouse Design Awards recognizes outstanding work by inhouse graphic designers and creative professionals. Lionakis has been fortunate to be on the receiving end of 14 different awards from GDUSA since 2013, including our most recent win we’re sharing today in Motion | TV, Film + Video, for the Diversity and Inclusion at Lionakis video produced in the fall of 2019:

Lionakis’ in-house graphic design team works on projects both inside and outside our firm. Many of our clients hire them to design innovative and unique custom graphics for their schools, and offices like Dyer-Kelly Elementary School, Mission College and the in-progress Paso Verde K-8 School.

For more than a year, Lionakis has been focused on developing Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, recognizing that change in our industry and society, starts with us. We’ve always been a firm that responds to the needs of our clients and the people we serve, and we’ve come a long way. But we can do better. We formed an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, where the intention is to look at the ways in which we can foster and progress towards a more inclusive culture which values and promotes diversity, strengthens our workplace and our practice.

Diverse teams challenge us with fresh perspectives. When we celebrate different backgrounds and viewpoints, we harness the power of the collective whole: a positive power which creates connections, breaks down stereotypes, empowers potential and becomes the catalyst for change.  

We are very excited that our team of many hands, talents and voices has been recognized for the hard work that went into producing this heartfelt video. We are also aware that lasting rewards of this kind are most especially won on the road ahead; when we are part of the change we wish to see in our offices, our practice and in our cites and nations around the world.
