For three Saturdays in November, a team of volunteers from Lionakis (including spouses & children) have been working to freshen up the River City Food Bank’s Sacramento midtown location.
Our first Saturday we removed the existing work stations, pulled up carpet and painted walls. During the week new walls with outlets were constructed and new carpet was installed by our trade partners. Clark Sullivan framed the walls and finished them with drywall, tape and texture. Alessandro Electric helped with power in the new walls. Shaw provided flooring that Capital Commercial Flooring installed and Dunn Edwards provided the paint. The second Saturday we assembled work stations and painted more areas, and on the final Saturday, we finished painting the new walls, moved furniture into place and put the finishing touches on the work stations.
There has been a lot of behind the scenes work being done by Lionakis volunteers to wrap up this project for an amazing organization that does important work for our community. This work to improve their facility is being very gratefully received and will help them especially now that winter and the Holiday season is just around the corner. Thank you to all who gave their efforts, and dedicated time and energy into this transformation for the Lionakis Foundation charitable organization recipient.
The Lionakis Foundation exists to promote, through philanthropic giving and volunteerism, a better future for the communities in which we live and work. The Foundation is funded from donations from the Lionakis Corporation, shareholders and employees as well as by our annual golf tournament. The corporate contribution, as well as the proceeds from the George Lionakis Memorial Golf Tournament, are used to build the endowment. All of the funds received from shareholders and employees are used to fund our Giving Programs.
