Our very own Josh Wood, from Lionakis’ external board, has been recognized by The Sacramento Bee as one of their Top 20 Black Change Makers! The Sac Bee has partnered with the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP) to honor Black change makers in Sacramento, focusing on area leaders who are dedicated to improving Sacramento and its neighboring communities.
Motivated by wanting to build a great community, Josh has been committed to helping build a city that his four kids will feel comfortable staying in. As founder of the Sacramento Region Business Association, which aims to develop and advocate for business-friendly policy solutions, Josh has made great strides toward cementing himself as one of Sacramento’s hometown heroes.
The Region Business Association is now focused on tackling the rising rates of crime and homelessness in Sacramento. Josh led the development and campaign for Measure O, which was eventually passed by voters in 2022. This measure requires Sacramento to clear encampments on city sidewalks and public property, and he hopes to continue working to put policy forward that tackles the homelessness epidemic.
We are honored to have Josh and his unique insights on our external board, and we are excited to see what more he brings to the Sacramento area.
