After much anticipation, Cherryland Elementary School located in Hayward Unified School District recently unveiled its new replacement campus! The construction began in 2017 and now replaces what was once an aging and overcrowded elementary school with a new and improved campus organized in grade-level pods. These pods surround a shared resource area to support project-based and small group learning environments. In addition to a single, core building with administration services, the learning commons and multi-purpose space with food service, serves the campus’ 750 students. Kindergarten and transitional kindergarten are organized in a stand-alone complex. The school includes significant space for student services to support specialists and intervention opportunities, to further support the students.
Congratulations to the entire project team on successfully completing this brand new, replacement campus which will serve the District for many years to come!
