Burbank High School Aquatic Renovation

The Luther Burbank High School pool was originally built in 1961 and has passed its useful life. The Boys’ and Girls’ Locker Rooms and shower areas were also in dire need of an upgrade; including locker and shower replacement to meet current California Building Code (CBC) ADA compliance. The scope of work included complete removal and replacement of the existing 6-lane, 25-yard swimming pool and mechanical/chemical systems with a state of the art new 8-lane pool facility, removal and replacement of the swimming pool deck and deck drainage system, and replacement of all pool equipment including the filtration and backwash system, chemical and acid storage, and heating system along with appropriate storage area for all aquatic related athletic equipment.
The project also included a complete renovation of the existing boy’s and girl’s locker rooms to meet current ADA compliance along with new showers to meet requirements for the pool facility, new security and decorative fencing.
