Cosumnes River College Light Rail Station

As part of the Sacramento Regional Transit District’s South Sacramento Corridor Phase 2 project, Lionakis prepared design and construction documents for the new terminal light rail station at the east entrance to the Cosumnes River College campus.

The platform area includes passenger shelters and mini-high structures that provide ramp accessibility to the light rail vehicles, accessory seating, operators’ break room building, and miscellaneous equipment, lighting, and signage.

In addition to the light rail station, this project also includes a new 8-berth transit center for bus transfers and the reconfiguration of an existing campus parking lot.  The transit center includes custom bus passenger shelters designed to be visually compatible with the other structures of the station.

A new 5-story parking structure (by others) is linked with the light rail station via a new pedestrian bridge and elevated walkway designed.  The pedestrian bridge spans the entrance drive to the campus and is designed as a gathering space and visual icon for this gateway location.
