Moanalua Medical Center Renovation

Located in Honolulu, this project includes major renovation and tenant improvements to a 120,000 square foot three-story medical office building as part of a area-wide master planning effort. This is a specialty and primary care outpatient clinic, including a GI suite with procedure suites, prep/recovery bays, nursing support space, physician offices, exam rooms, and endoscope reprocessing. The program developed by Kaiser Permanente required five GI procedure rooms adjacent to 10 prep/recovery bays. Two adjacent outpatient surgery operating rooms will also share these prep/recovery bays. A new air handler will be added to this building to serve the additional needs of the special procedure and operating rooms. These new program requirements classified the clinic as an ambulatory health care occupancy in a building that is predominantly B occupancy, and the requirements of NFPA 101 relevant to these areas will apply. Lionakis is incorporating creative space planning solutions, innovative design ideas and new interior finishes for this building in concert with a new master finish palette for the project.
