Rio Linda Library Media Centers

By reclaiming existing classroom space, this modernization project provided 19 schools flexible Library Media Centers, created to be easily reconfigured to accommodate various learning modalities. The program integrates wireless technology into these spaces as well. Lionakis developed the design framework, gaining consensus on the philosophy for the library media centers, developing standardization of equipment and furnishings, while providing participation and personalization to each of the 19 school sites. The 19 Library Media Centers at Rio Linda School Union Distinct are a example of setting district wide standards, developing prototype design, and applying them in an on-schedule and on-budget district program.
