Western University of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Lecture Facilities Renovation
We provided programming through construction phase services for this 15,000 square foot renovation. In order to accommodate the current pedagogy shift to a more interactive and technology driven form of teaching, the existing lecture halls were reconfigured to include pods so students can sit at custom designed tables that house large flat paneled monitors. The tables include advanced audio/video connectors that allows for the consumption, creation and sharing of information throughout the space that can be entirely curated by the instructor. The classroom is designed with a Skyfold wall that can divide the classroom into two smaller classrooms, which are sound proofed and each equipped with separate podium consoles. In support of these three lecture spaces, there are 20 break-out rooms for groups of students to retreat to and be able to collaborate at a more detailed level. Equipped with compatible audio/visual tools, these rooms have the technological ability to smoothly interact with the instructor and other rooms remotely.
